The Wimbledon tournament is one of the most prestigious and oldest tennis tournaments in the world. It is held annually in London at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club's grass courts. The tournament is part of the Grand Slam series.

History and Traditions
The first tournament took place in 1877. Wimbledon has preserved its traditions: play on grass, a mandatory white dress code for players, and the serving of strawberries and cream for the spectators. It is the only Grand Slam tournament that is entirely played on grass courts.

Competition Format
There are men's and women's singles tournaments, doubles events, as well as competitions for juniors and veterans. A unique feature of the tournament is the adherence to the "equal time matches" rule, which makes the games even more exciting.

Modern Significance
Wimbledon is not only a sporting event but also a cultural occasion that brings together millions of fans from all over the world.
